Crosslinx LRT Project
Site Background
Crosslinx will provide a midtown connection between east and west Toronto with 25 stations along the dedicated route. With the city expanding and thriving at a fast pace, the Eglinton Crosstown LRT will move fast along with it, connecting communities along the way.
The purpose was to undertake the construction of a Permeable Reactive Barrier (PRB) on the Eglinton Maintenance and Servicing Facility (EMSF) Site, just north of Eglinton Avenue West and west of Black Creek Drive, in the City of Toronto. Final objective of this project was to prepare the part of the site to meet environmental compliance in advance of the construction of the guideway for the future Eglinton Crosstown Light Rail Transit (ECLRT) on Eglinton Avenue East.
The site is located on property owned by Metrolinx and the City of Toronto for the ECLRT project and is located in the Humber River watershed.
